Your body goes through a number of changes when you are pregnant. These changes sometimes don’t let you have a sound sleep at night for the required number of hours as it is not so easy to sleep on the belly getting your way. Also, during pregnancy, you need to sleep for two people. Then how are both of them possible at the same time? Dr. Garima Tyagi suggests the position in which you can have a sound sleep during pregnancy:
1. Avoid sleeping on your back
Sleeping on your back can get you in trouble as it can lead to severe backaches, breathing problems, the digestive system, hemorrhoids, and also can cause low blood circulation to your heart and the infant.
2. Avoid sleeping on your stomach
At the later stage of your pregnancy, the abdomen goes physical changes which make it impossible to lie on your stomach. Sleeping on your stomach is not a good idea because if you lie face down, your stomach will press on expanding uterus.
3. Left is the best
Experts recommend sleeping on your left side as it prevents your body weight from getting pushed down on your lever. Sleeping on your side improves circulation, giving nutrient-packed blood an easier route from your heart to the placenta to nourish your baby.
